contribute to the implementation in the region of the Union's policies relating to human rights in cooperation with the EUSR for Human Rights, including the EU Guidelines on human rights, in particular the EU Guidelines on Children and Armed Conflict, as well as the EU Guidelines on violence against women and girls and combating all forms of discrimination against them, and the Union's policies relating to women, peace and security, including by monitoring and reporting on developments, as well as formulating recommendations in this regard, and maintain regular contacts with the relevant authorities in Mali and in the region, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the human rights defenders and observers in the region;

In simple terms, that means that the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy needs to make it absolutely clear that the EU funds for peacemaking measures in Africa can only be provided if the African Union and the Arab League cooperate with the International Criminal Court in future, instead of undermining its work.

Welcomes the Commission's proposal to hold a conference with UEFA, the Association of European Football Leagues (EPFL), the International Union of Professional Footballers (Fifpro), the national associations and national bodies responsible for organising professional football events in order to discuss licensing arrangements and best practices within this specific domain and calls on the Commission to invite other representative associations concerned to this conference;

The EU will also actively cooperate with international organisations working on gender equality such as the ILO, the OECD, the UN and the African Union to produce synergies and foster women’s empowerment, as well as with the new UN Entity for Gender Equality , UN WOMEN, and will support civil society participation, capacity building and advocacy on gender equality and women's empowerment.

with regard to asylum policy, defining a uniform status and a common asylum procedure, as provided for at Tampere and confirmed by the draft Constitutional Treaty, while strengthening the measures for the protection of refugees or persons requiring humanitarian aid and ensuring the full exercise of their individual and social rights, especially to health, education and employment; also points out that the legal framework that must be respected by the Union and its Member States to the benefit of such persons cannot be called into question by international agreements, whether they are negotiated by the Union and/or its Member States; with regard to that policy, drawing lessons from the experience gained with the Sangatte centre and taking account of the concerns expressed by organisations which defend the rights of migrants, in particular by the International Federation of Human Rights Leagues, which are calling on the Union not to shirk its responsibilities under the Geneva Convention and not to run the risk of creating a legal vacuum with regard to persons who are among the most deprived on the planet;

Τhis resolution also expressed solidarity with the peaceful forces of Israel and called on the international community, and the permanent members of the UN Security Council, the European Union and the Arab League in particular, to exert pressure on Israel to comply with both the recent and not so recent resolutions of the United Nations.
