Following a presentation by the Presidency, the Council discussed questions concerning preparation for the Laeken declaration on the future of Europe in some depth, with a view to the consideration to be given to this issue by the Heads of State or Government at the informal European Council in Ghent on 19 October 2001.
Le Conseil, sur la base d'une présentation par la Présidence, a eu un débat approfondi sur des questions se posant en ce qui concerne la préparation de la déclaration de Laeken sur l'avenir de l'Europe en vue des délibérations qu'auront les Chefs d'Etat ou de gouvernement en la matière lors du Conseil européen informel de Gand du 19 octobre prochain.
