2. When sentinel chickens are used they must be used only once, be unvaccinated, have been found sero-negative for Newcastle Disease and avian influenza not less than seven days and not more than 14 days before the start of quarantine, be at least three weeks old, be placed in the quarantine unit before the arrival of the birds, be leg-banded for identification purposes or identified with another non-removable identification and placed in the quarantine unit as close as possible to the birds in such a way that contact between the sentinel chickens and the excrements of the quarantine birds is ensured.
2.
