Today, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) issued an opinion on the European Commission's Communication on the EU Counter-Terrorism Policy which outlines the main achievements and future challenges and prepares the way for a broader Internal Security Strategy (*).The Communication is one of a number of documents in which the Commission outlines its future policies in this area.

In parallel to the plenary session, the CoR and the European Commission’s communication directorate general (DG COMM) will host a two-day practical forum for directors of communication and editors of local and regional authority titles, focused on how Europe can better serve the needs of media in its regions and cities. The publication of the handbook is also in line with the European Commission's Communication of Equality of Opportunities for People with Disabilities, in that it reflects the Community's view that disabled citizens should not be denied access to the benefits and opportunities arising from leisure, travel and tourism, offered under the conditions of comfort and safety, which are currently available to others.
