Major achievements during the reporting period were Ukraine’s accession to the World Trade Organisation in May 2008, the good progress in the negotiations on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, including those aspects related to a deep and comprehensive Free Trade Area, the launch in October of a visa dialogue with the aim of establishing a visa free regime as a long term perspective and the continuing positive cooperation with the EU Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM).
