Referring to the 1989 EU ban on the production and import of meat from animals which have been treated with growth hormones Mr Fischler said that EU consumers have a high level of concern over the authenticity, genuineness and general quality of the food they eat and in particular any adverse effects it might have upon their health.
Se référant à l'interdiction de la production et de l'importation de viande provenant d'animaux traités aux hormones de croissance, décidée par l'UE en 1989, Monsieur Fischler a déclaré que les consommateurs européens sont très attachés à l'authenticité, au caractère naturel et, en général, à la qualité de leur nourriture et sont particulièrement soucieux des effets nuisibles que celle-ci peut avoir sur leur santé.
