Significant milestones, which contributed in the bridging of the gaps, were achieved during the implementation period of this agreement. Among those milestones are: provincial legislation was passed for the establishment of a Mi'kmaq education council; Mi'kmaq representation on provincial school boards and the promotion of the Mi'kmaq language and culture in the public school programs for both aboriginal and non-aboriginal students.
Au cours de la période de mise en oeuvre de cette convention, d'importantes étapes, qui ont contribué à réduire cet écart, ont été franchies: une loi provinciale concernant la création d'un conseil micmac chargé de l'éducation a été adoptée, une représentation a été accordée aux Micmacs et une place de choix a été attribuée à la langue et à la culture micmaques dans les programmes scolaires publics, à l'intention des élèves autochtones et non autochtones.
