The fact that the two Treaties have the same legal value – as they each point out in their opening articles – would seem to safeguard the progress achieved by means of the abolition of the pillar structure and minimise any reduction in the coherence of these provisions and the danger that the intergovernmental method employed in connection with the CFSP may 'contaminate' the more 'Communitised' arrangements used in other areas of external relations. However, constant efforts to interpret all the provisions of the two Treaties will be needed to safeguard this progress and ward off these dangers.
Le fait que les deux traités ont la même valeur juridique – comme ils le rappellent chacun dans leurs premiers articles – semble sauvegarder les progrès résultant de la suppression de la structure en piliers et limiter l'éventuelle perte de cohérence de leurs dispositions ainsi que le danger que le domaine intergouvernemental de la PESC "contamine" celui plus "communautarisé" du reste des relations extérieures, mais il faudra un effort constant d'interprétation d'ensemble des deux traités pour assurer ces progrès et éviter ces dangers.
