Research also shows that in some Member States an increasing number of young people are not in employment, education or training (NEETs) and that there is a strong link between socioeconomic status and political participation: NEETs are less likely to vote , have less trust in political organisations and are less engaged in civic participation, compared to the rest of the young population.
