In your opinion, if the merger were to go ahead, what kind of future would there be for regional air carriers, considering that service to the regions has already been cut, that the quality of the services has been compromised, that carriers are already free to decide how often to provide service to the regions and that regional travelers already pay exorbitant air fares?

Meeting on 21 and 22 February with Mr John Chatfield in the chair, the Consultative Council of Regional and Local Authorities adopted an opinion on the "Europe 2000" document in which it stressed the interest of the Member States and the regional and local authorities in the regional planning work currently being carried out by the Commission.
Sous la présidence de M. John Chatfield le Conseil Consultatif des Collectivités Régionales et Locales a adopté lors de sa réunion des 21 et 22 février un avis sur le document "Europe 2000".
