In accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 1894/2006 of 18 December 2006 concerning the implementation of the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and Brazil relating to the modification of concessions in the schedules of the Czech Republic, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Malta, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovak Republic in the course of accession to the European Community, amending and supplementing Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 on the tariff and statistical nomenclature and on the Common Customs Tariff , the Community has undertaken to import from Brazil a tariff rate quota of 10 124 tonnes of raw cane sugar for refining at a rate of duty of EUR 98 per tonne.
Conformément au règlement (CE) no 1894/2006 du Conseil du 18 décembre 2006 concernant la mise en œuvre de l’accord sous forme d’échange de lettres entre la Communauté européenne et le Brésil concernant la modification de concessions dans les listes d’engagements de la République tchèque, de la République d’Estonie, de la République de Chypre, de la République de Lettonie, de la République de Lituanie, de la République de Hongrie, de la République de Malte, de la République de Pologne, de la République de Slovénie et de la République slovaque, dans le cadre du processus d’adhésion à la Communauté européenne, modifiant et complétant l’annexe I du règlement (CEE) no 2658/87 relatif à la nomenclature tarifaire et statistique et au tarif douanier commun , la Communauté s’est engagée à importer du Brésil un contingent tarifaire de 10 124 tonnes de sucre brut de canne à raffiner, à un droit de 98 EUR par tonne.

Common Customs Tariff duties on non-sensitive products should continue to be suspended, while duties on sensitive products should enjoy a tariff reduction, in order to ensure a satisfactory utilisation rate while at the same time taking account of the situation of the corresponding Union industries.
Il convient que les produits non sensibles continuent de faire l’objet d’une suspension des droits du tarif douanier commun et que les produits sensibles bénéficient d’une réduction des droits, afin d’assurer un taux d’utilisation des préférences satisfaisant, tout en tenant compte de la situation des industries correspondantes de l’Union.

5. Schedule II to the Customs Tariff is amended by adding, after the British Preferential Tariff rates of duty under the heading “Most-Favoured-Nation Tariff”, for each Code set out in column I of Part III of the schedule, the rates of customs duty set out in column II of that Code.

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to tariff item 70320-1 of Schedule A to the Customs Tariff, is pleased hereby to revoke the Returning Residents Special Exemption Regulations, C.R.C., c. 545, and to make the annexed Order respecting the exemption of certain goods pursuant to tariff item 70320-1 of Schedule A to the Customs Tariff.
Sur avis conforme du ministre du Revenu national et en vertu du numéro tarifaire 70320-1 de la liste A du Tarif des douanes, il plaît à Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil d’abroger le Règlement sur l’exemption spéciale des résidents revenant au pays, C.R.C., ch. 545, et de prendre le Décret concernant l’exemption de certaines marchandises du numéro tarifaire 70320-1 de la liste A du Tarif des douanes, ci-après.

4. For each tariff item No. set out in column I of Schedule III, the symbol “X” under the heading “General Preferential Tariff” in Schedule I to the Customs Tariff is replaced with the rate of customs duty set out in column II of that tariff item No., effective January 1, 1996.
4. À compter du 1 janvier 1996, le symbole « X » figurant sous la mention « Tarif de préférence général » à l’annexe I du Tarif des douanes est remplacé, pour chaque numéro tarifaire mentionné dans la colonne I de l’annexe III du présent décret, par le taux inscrit dans la colonne II.

4. Schedule I to the Customs Tariff is amended by replacing, for each tariff item No. set out in column I of Part II of the schedule, the rate of customs duty in respect of Australia or New Zealand, as the case may be, set out under the heading “Most-Favoured-Nation Tariff” with the rates of customs duty set out in column II of that tariff item No.
