If the approval authority granting whole vehicle type-approval is not satisfied with the reported information referred to in point 2.4 and has communicated this in writing to the manufacturer in question and the approval authority granting type-approval for the system, component or separate technical unit, the approval authority granting whole vehicle type-approval shall demand additional conformity of production audits or checks to be performed at the site of the manufacturer(s) of those systems, components or separate technical units and the results shall immediately be made available to the approval authority concerned.

If a competent authority is able to demonstrate that on-board sewage treatment plants provided with a type approval number do not conform with the type-approved on-board sewage treatment plant type, it may require the competent authority which issued the type approval to have the on-board sewage treatment plant type that is in production checked for conformity with the type-approved on-board sewage treatment plant type.

Upon a request from one or more competent authorities, the European Parliament, the Council or the Commission, or on its own initiative, the Authority may conduct an inquiry into a particular type of financial activity or type of product or type of conduct in order to assess potential threats to the integrity of financial markets or the stability of the financial system and make appropriate recommendations for action to the competent authorities concerned.

Where a type-approval or component type-approval certificate ceases to have effect as a result of final cessation of production of the type of vehicle that has been type-approved or of the separate technical unit or component that has been component type-approved, the competent authorities in the Member State which have carried out that type-approval or component type-approval shall inform the competent authorities in the other Member States within one month.
