31. Considers that Council Directive 90/496/EEC of 24 September 1990 on nutrition labelling for foodstuffs needs to be revised without delay, so as to include, as a minimum, a requirement to indicate the presence and quantity of nutrients and the nature of the fats, in pursuit of the objectives involving the simplification and harmonisation of European legislation and in line with the recommendations put forward by industry representatives and consumer associations;
31. acht een snelle herziening van Richtlijn 90/496/EEG van de Raad van 24 september 1990 inzake de voedingswaarde-etikettering van levensmiddelen van belang, die in ieder geval de verplichting moet inhouden de aanwezigheid en hoeveelheid van nutriënten te vermelden evenals de aard van de vetten en die zou moeten voldoen aan de doelstellingen van vereenvoudiging en harmonisatie van de Europese wetgeving, en aldus aansluit bij de aanbevelingen van de vertegenwoordigers van de industrie en de consumentenverenigingen;

7. Hopes that the forthcoming CESR recommendations will be in line with these criteria and calls on the Commission to take them into account in evaluating the implementation of UCITS III and to propose amendments to Directive 85/611/EEC on the content of the simplified prospectus for the purpose of establishing binding EC legislation on a fully harmonised simplified prospectus; suggests that the simplified prospectus should be designed after consulting all relevant parties, including industry and consumer associations, after direct consumer testing, and with the help of marketing experts, otherwise it will remain unlikely to be read and understood by consumers;
7. hoopt dat de komende aanbevelingen van het CEER bij deze criteria aansluiten en verzoekt de Commissie daarmee rekening te houden bij de evaluatie van de tenuitvoerlegging van Icbe III en een wijziging van Richtlijn 85/611/EEG uit te werken aangaande de gegevens die in het vereenvoudigd prospectus moeten worden gepubliceerd, teneinde van deze richtlijn een bindende Europese regelgeving inzake een volledig geharmoniseerd vereenvoudigd prospectus te maken; het vereenvoudigd prospectus dient te worden ontwikkeld na raadpleging van alle betrokken partijen, met inbegrip van de sector zelf en consumentenorganisaties, na rechtstreekse tests met consumenten, en met ondersteuning van marketingdeskundigen, omdat de consumenten anders waarschijnlijk nog steeds geen prospectus zullen lezen en begrijpen;

(5) In the light of Directive 83/477/EEC, Member States, through the proper official authorities and authorities serving the public interest, notably civil protection services, factories inspectorates, local authorities, employers' organisations in the industries most directly concerned, trade unions, victims' associations, and any bodies that might wish to intervene, should ensure full compliance with European and national legislation by every means available, to avoid asbestos-related diseases claiming further deaths in the future.
(5) Ingevolge Richtlijn 83/477/EEG zouden de lidstaten via de bevoegde overheidsinstanties, zoals de bescherming bevolking, arbeidsinspectie, lagere overheden, werkgeversverenigingen in de betrokken sectoren, vakbonden, verenigingen van slachtoffers en alle andere mogelijke belanghebbenden, op alle mogelijke wijzen moeten zorgen voor volledige naleving van de Europese en nationale wetgeving, teneinde te voorkomen dat verdere levens verloren gaan door ziekten veroorzaakt door asbest.

(3a) In the light of Directive 83/477/EEC, Member States, through the proper official authorities and authorities serving the public interest, from civil protection services, factories inspectorates, local authorities, employers’ organisations in the industries most directly concerned, trade unions, victims’ associations, and any bodies that might wish to intervene, are urged to ensure full compliance with European and national legislation by every means available, because asbestos-related diseases will otherwise claim a further death toll in the future.
(3 bis) Dringt er ten aanzien van de bestaande Richtlijn 83/477/EEG bij de lidstaten op aan om via de bevoegde overheidsinstanties, zoals de bescherming bevolking, arbeidsinspectie, lagere overheden, werkgeversverenigingen in de betrokken sectoren, vakbonden, verenigingen van slachtoffers en alle andere mogelijke belanghebbenden, te zorgen voor integrale naleving van de Europese en nationale wetgeving met alle beschikbare middelen om te voorkomen dat verdere levens verloren gaan door ziekten veroorzaakt door asbest.

– having regard to Council Directive 82/501/EEC (Seveso I), concerning the prevention of major industrial accidents, and the subsequent Directive 96/82/EC (Seveso II), concerning the management of risks associated with major accidents involving hazardous substances,

(10) Whereas the Scientific Committee on Cosmetology was consulted on the safety of certain bovine products on 11 April 1996; whereas the Liaison Committee of European Associations of the Perfume, Cosmetic Products and Toiletries Industries (Colipa) has recommended its members not to use source materials from United Kingdom bovine animals; whereas that Committee has declared that its members follow that recommendation; whereas Commission Directive 97/1/EC of 10 January 1997 adapting to technical progress Annexes II, III, VI, and VII to Council Directive 76/768/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to cosmetic products (9), has provisionally prohibited the placing on the market of cosmetic products containing certain tissues and fluids;
(10) Overwegende dat het Wetenschappelijk Comité voor cosmetologie op 11 april 1996 over de veiligheid van bepaalde, van runderen afkomstige producten is geraadpleegd; dat het Verbindingscomité van de Europese industriële verenigingen voor parfumerie en cosmetica (Colipa) zijn leden heeft aangeraden geen van runderen uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk afkomstig uitgangsmateriaal te gebruiken; dat dat comité heeft verklaard dat zijn leden deze raad volgen; dat bij Richtlijn 97/1/EG van de Commissie van 10 januari 1997 tot aanpassing aan de vooruitgang van de techniek van de bijlagen II, III, VI en VII, van Richtlijn 76/768/EEG van de Raad betreffende de onderlinge aanpassing van de wetgevingen der lidstaten inzake cosmetische producten (9) het op de markt brengen van bepaalde weefsels en vloeistoffen bevattende cosmetische producten voorlopig werd verboden;

Having regard to Council Regulation No 367/67/EEC 3 of 25 July 1967 on fixing the production refunds for maize and broken rice, groats and meal used in the brewing industry, and in particular Article 3 thereof;
Gelet op Verordening nr . 367/67/EEG van de Raad van 25 juli 1967 houdende vaststelling van de restituties bij de produktie voor grutten , gries en griesmeel van maïs en voor breukrijst die in de brouwerijen wordt gebruikt ( 3 ) , inzonderheid op artikel 3 ,

Whereas Article 8 of Council Regulation (EEC) No 1052/68 3 of 23 July 1968 on the import and export system for products processed from cereals and from rice provided that, in the calculation of the export refund on processed products, account should be taken of the production refund granted on basic products used in their manufacture ; whereas account should be taken of this refund in the calculation of the variable component of the levy according to the quantities of basic products used as listed in the Annex to Regulation (EEC) No 1052/68 ; whereas, however, it is unnecessary to take account of the production refund on maize groats and meal and broken rice used in the brewing industry since, pursuant to Article 2 of Regulation No 367/67/EEC 4, Member States are obliged to take action ensuring that such refunds are limited to the amounts of maize groats and meal and broken rice actually used by the brewing industry in the Community;
Overwegende dat in artikel 8 van Verordening ( EEG ) nr . 1052/68 van de Raad van 23 juli 1968 tot vaststelling van de regeling voor de invoer en de uitvoer van de op basis van granen en rijst verwerkte produkten ( 3 ) , is bepaald dat voor de verwerkte produkten waarvoor een restitutie bij de produktie wordt verleend voor de grondstoffen die voor de vervaardiging van die verwerkte produkten zijn bestemd , met deze restitutie bij de produktie rekening wordt gehouden voor de berekening van de restitutie bij de uitvoer ; dat er rekening mee dient te worden gehouden aan de hand van de hoeveelheden basisprodukt die in de bijlage van Verordening ( EEG ) nr . 1052/68 voor de berekening van het variabele element van de heffing in aanmerking zijn genomen ; dat evenwel met de restitutie bij de produktie geen rekening dient te worden gehouden voor in de brouwerijen gebruikte grutten , gries en griesmeel van mais en breukrijst , aangezien de Lid-Staten krachtens artikel 2 van Verordening nr . 367/67/EEG ( 4 ) ertoe verplicht zijn deze restitutie te beperken tot de hoeveelheden grutten , gries en griesmeel van mais en breukrijst , die werkelijk door de brouwerijen van de Gemeenschap worden gebruikt ;

Whereas the Common Customs Tariff annexed to Council Regulation (EEC) No 950/68 (2) of 28 June 1968, as last amended by Council Regulation (EEC) No 2376/70 (3) of 23 November 1970, includes under sub-heading No 23.02 A I (a) bran, sharps and other residues derived from the sifting, milling or working of, inter alia, maize with a starch content not exceeding 35 % by weight;
Overwegende dat in het gemeenschappelijk douanetarief , gehecht aan Verordening ( EEG ) nr . 950/68 van de Raad van 29 juni 1968 ( 2 ) , laatstelijk gewijzigd bij Verordening ( EEG ) nr . 2376/70 van de Raad van 23 november 1970 ( 3 ) , postonderverdeling 23.02 A I a ) , betrekking heeft op zemelen , slijpsel en andere resten van het zeven , van het malen of van andere bewerkingen van onder meer maïs , met een zetmeelgehalte van niet meer dan 35 gewichtspercenten ;

1. In the calculation of the export refund for the processed products listed in Article 8 of Regulation (EEC) No 1052/68, that refund shall be reduced by the amount of the production refund granted on the date of export for: (a) 161 kilogrammes of maize for starch manufacture, for flour and meal of sago, manioc, arrowroot, salep and other roots and tubers falling within heading No 07.06 of the Common Customs Tariff;
