The MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece voted against the report, because they consider that Members of the European Parliament should be paid by the countries in which they are elected and which they represent and to which they answer and not by the ΕU. It is also an insult to the workers being crushed by the new EU anti-grass roots tempest to set the monthly salary of MEPs at EUR 7 000 while the monthly salary in Greece, for example, is EUR 572.30.
De Europese afgevaardigden van de Communistische Partij van Griekenland hebben tegen het verslag gestemd omdat zij van mening zijn dat de Europese afgevaardigden betaald moeten worden door de landen waarin zij verkozen zijn, waarvan zij vertegenwoordigers zijn en waaraan zij rekenschap moeten afleggen, en niet door de EU. Dit is eveneens een provocatie aan het adres van de werknemers die verpletterd worden door de nieuwe volksvijandige stoomwals van de EU, die het nieuwe maandsalaris van de Europese afgevaardigden vaststelt op 7 000 euro terwijl het maandloon in Griekenland bijvoorbeeld 572,30 euro is.
