Finally, the Convention has set the seal on this work by giving us its support and by proposing an article for the Constitutional Treaty that would require the EU to aim to protect the physical and moral integrity of the young, and of young sportsmen and sportswomen in particular.

RECALLING the action already taken by the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties including, in particular, the agreed measures for the conservation of Antarctic fauna and flora, as well as the provisions of the Convention for the conservation of Antarctic seals;
VERWIJZENDE NAAR de maatregelen die de consultatieve partijen bij het Verdrag inzake Antarctica reeds hebben genomen, inzonderheid naar de overeengekomen maatregelen voor de instandhouding van de fauna en flora in Antarctica (Agreed Measures for the Conservation of Antarctic Fauna and Flora) en de bepalingen van het Verdrag inzake de instandhouding van Antarctische zeehonden (Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Seals);

Nothing in this Convention shall derogate from the rights and obligations of Contracting Parties under the International Convention for the regulation of whaling and the Convention for the conservation of Antarctic seals.
Geen enkele bepaling van dit Verdrag doet afbreuk aan de rechten en verplichtingen van de verdragsluitende partijen ingevolge het Verdrag tot regeling van de walvisvangst (International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling) en het Verdrag inzake de instandhouding van Antarctische zeehonden (Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Seals).
