WORKER INFORMATION AND CONSULTATION The Council held a discussion on the Commission communication on worker information and consultation and on the following points in particular: - the advisability of making the "European company", the "European association", the "European co-operative society" and the "European mutual society" subject to Community rules on worker information and consultation at national level in addition to the existing Directive on European Works Councils; - the desirability of rules for worker participation in the organs of those entities; - the desirability of a mandatory link between the regulations concerning the four entities and the relevant rules on worker information, consultation and, where appropriate, participation; - the advisability of setting up a high-level study group to provide a more thorough knowledge of national systems and draw up recommendations for future action.
VOORLICHTING EN RAADPLEGING VAN DE WERKNEMERS De Raad hield een debat over de mededeling van de Commissie inzake de voorlichting en de raadpleging van de werknemers, met name over de volgende thema's : - is het wenselijk de "Europese vennootschap", de "Europese vereniging", de "Europese coöperatieve vennootschap" en de "Europese onderlinge maatschappij" te onderwerpen aan communautaire regels betreffende voorlichting en raadpleging op nationaal niveau, ter aanvulling van de bestaande richtlijn over de Europese ondernemingsraden ? - is het wenselijk dat er regels komen voor medezeggenschap van de werknemers binnen de organen van deze juridische lichamen ? - is het wenselijk een dwingend verband te leggen tussen de verordeningen over de vier juridische lichamen en de relevante regels inzake voorlichting, raadpleging en eventueel medezeggenschap ? - is het wenselijk op hoog niveau een reflectiegroep in te stellen om de kennis van de nationale systemen te verruimen en aanbevelingen voor toekomstige stappen te doen ?

On 30 May, the Council held debates on two main aspects of the reform: the creation of the European professional card and the transparency exercise that would lead to mutual evaluations and, possibly, a simplification of the national legal frameworks for the regulated professions.
Op 30 mei heeft de Raad een debat gehouden over twee belangrijke aspecten van de hervorming: de invoering van de Europese beroepskaart en de transparantie-exercitie die moet leiden tot wederzijdse evaluatie en, mogelijkerwijs, een vereenvoudiging van de nationale rechtskaders voor de gereglementeerde beroepen.
