The EC is furthermore a member of the East–Agri group which is a network of agricultural and agri–business institutions working in the region of Central and Eastern Europe under FAO coordination.

The four Regional Groups for electricity (Northern Seas Offshore Grid, Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan (BEMIP), North-South interconnections in West-Europe and North-South interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe) adopt a regional list of PCIs in preparation of the EU-wide list.

The Commission has made two oral progress reports to the Council, in October 2003 and February 2004, and contributed to detailed discussions in the Permanent Representatives Committee and the relevant Council working groups, concerning the possible elements to be included in European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) Actions Plans with a number of countries in Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Initiatives to fight racism have been supported through continuing actions in favour of the reconstruction of the Republics of Former Yugoslavia.More widely, the Commission is a major donor to projects organised under the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, one of whose working groups is specifically devoted to human rights, minorities and inter-ethnic relations in the Balkans region.
Initiatieven ter bestrijding van racisme zijn gesteund door de maatregelen tot wederopbouw van de republieken van het voormalige Joegoslavië voort te zetten. In breder verband is de Commissie een belangrijke donor bij projecten in het kader van het stabiliteitspact voor Zuidoost- Europa. Één van de werkgroepen voor dit pact houdt zich in het bijzonder bezig met de mensenrechten, minderheden en de betrekkingen tussen de verschillende volkeren op de Balkan.
