Following the partial replacement of the members of the Court of Justice, on 9 October 2012 the Judges of the Court elected from among their number the Presidents of the Chambers of five Judges in accordance with Article 10(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Court of Justice.

That would be achieved by amending Articles 16 and 17 of the Statute so as to increase to 15 the number of Judges constituting the Grand Chamber and to end the automatic participation of all the Presidents of five-judge Chambers in Grand Chamber cases.
