Notes that the Transatlantic Legislators Dialogue (TLD) has helped to strengthen interparliamentary relations between the EU and the US; reiterates the need to build synergies between the TLD and the other NTA dialogues, inter alia by launching new jointly-funded programmes for exchanges between legislative staffers and by creating a small TLD secretariat;
91. merkt op dat de transatlantische wetgeversdialoog aan de versterking van de interparlementaire betrekkingen tussen de EU en de VS heeft bijgedragen en stelt opnieuw dat er tussen de transatlantische wetgeversdialoog en de overige dialogen van de nieuwe transatlantische agenda synergieën moeten worden gecreëerd, onder meer door nieuwe gezamenlijk gefinancierde programma's op te zetten voor uitwisselingen tussen wetgevingsmedewerkers en door een klein secretariaat voor de transatlantische wetgeversdialoog op te richten;

92. Stresses that the 61st Meeting of the Transatlantic Legislators' Dialogue, held in Vienna on 18- 21 April 2006, reaffirmed the enormous advantages for our constituents that could result from the removal of barriers impeding transatlantic economic relations and noted that the relationship between the United States and the European Union should be renewed by replacing its current structure with an EU/US Partnership Agreement;
92. benadrukt dat de 61ste vergadering van de Transatlantische Wetgeversdialoog, gehouden in Wenen, 18- 21 april 2006, opnieuw de geweldige voordelen heeft benadrukt voor onze burgers die kunnen voortvloeien uit het wegnemen van belemmeringen die de transatlantische economische betrekkingen in de weg zitten, en heeft geconstateerd dat de betrekkingen tussen de Verenigde Staten en de Europese Unie moeten worden vernieuwd door de huidige structuur te vervangen door een EU/US-partnerschapsovereenkomst;

15. Calls on the EU-US Summit to start strengthening the parliamentary dimension of the Transatlantic Partnership by transforming the Transatlantic Legislators' Dialogue (TLD) into a Transatlantic Assembly able to hold legislators' summits prior to EU-US summits, and to build synergies between the TLD and the New Transatlantic Agenda dialogues, inter alia by launching new jointly-funded programmes for exchange between legislative staffers and by creating a small TLD secretariat;
15. verzoekt de Top EU-VS de aanzet te geven tot een versterking van de parlementaire dimensie van het transatlantische partnerschap door de transatlantische wetgeversdialoog om te vormen tot een transatlantische assemblee die voorafgaand aan topbijeenkomsten EU-VS topontmoetingen van wetgevers kan houden, en synergieën tot stand te brengen tussen de TLD- en de Nieuwe Transatlantische Agenda dialoog, onder andere door het opzetten van nieuwe gezamenlijk gefinancierde programma's voor uitwisseling van wetgevingsstaf en door de oprichting van een klein TLD-secretariaat;

[10] In this regard, the European Parliament resolution on transatlantic relations of 13 January 2005 stated that the Parliament “Considers that the Transatlantic Legislators Dialogue should be fully activated, that an early warning system should immediately be put in place between the two sides, and that the existing interparliamentary exchange should be gradually transformed into a de facto ‘Transatlantic Assembly’”.
