Dat deze fiscale discriminatie desastreuze financiële gevolgen heeft ten aanzien van de « echte » alleenstaanden en eenoudergezinnen wordt uitvoerig beschreven in diverse studies zoals onder meer de studie van Eurostat betreffende « Social exclusion in EU member states », nr. 1/2000, het onderzoek van professor Fred Louckx betreffende de sociaal-economische ongelijkheid in de gezondheidszorg (supra), het Brussels Armoederapport voor het jaar 1997 (supra), de studie van het CSB, uitgevoerd door professor Bea Cantillon, Birgit Kerstens en Gerlinde Verbist, betreffende de sociale en fiscale herverdeling in België van december 1999 (supra), alsook het uitvoerig onderzoek uitgevoerd door mevrouw Bea Van den Bergh en Walter Van Dongen, beide onderzoekers bij het CBGS (supra).
Diverses études ont largement montré que cette discrimination fiscale a des conséquences financières désastreuses pour les « véritables » isolés et pour les familles monoparentales. Tel fut le cas, notamment, de l'étude d'Eurostat intitulée « Social exclusion in EU member states », nº 1/2000, de l'étude du professeur Fred Louckx relative à l'inégalité socio-économique dans les soins de santé (supra), du Rapport bruxellois sur la pauvreté pour l'année 1997 (supra), de l'étude que consacrèrent en décembre 1999 la professeur Bea Cantillon, Birgit Kerstens et Gerlinde Verbist (supra), à la demande du CSB, à la redistribution sociale et fiscale en Belgique, et de l'étude circonstanciée de Bea Van den Bergh et Walter Van Dongen, tous deux chercheurs au CBGS (supra).
