We have worked with an ad hoc committee, all parties, House and Senate, to develop a piece of legislation that is reflective of our expectations in terms of ongoing oversight.

22. se déclare préoccupé par les écarts colossaux des coûts de la traduction entre les institutions de l'Union; demande par conséquent au groupe de travail interinstitutionnel sur la traduction de trouver les causes de ces disparités et de proposer des solutions afin de corriger ce déséquilibre et d'harmoniser les coûts de la traduction dans le plus grand respect de la qualité et de la diversité linguistique; demande à cet effet que le groupe de travail relance la coopération entre les institutions afin de mettre en commun les meilleures pratiques et les résultats et de recenser les domaines dans lesquels la coopération ou les accords entre institutions peuvent être renforcés; observe que le groupe de travail devrait également se donner comme objectif la mise au point d'une méthode unifiée de présentation des dépenses de traduction dans toutes les institutions afin de simplifier l'analyse et de comparer les coûts; observe que le groupe de travail devrait livrer ces résultats avant fin 2015; demande à toutes les institutions de l'Union de participer activement aux travaux du groupe de travail interinstitutionnel; rappelle à cet égard l'importance fondamentale de respecter le multilinguisme dans les institutions européennes afin de garantir l'égalité de traitement et l'égalité des chances entre tous les citoyens de l'Union;

Welcomes the Commission's recommendation that the Council should set up the ad hoc technical working party in charge of drafting the Accession Treaty; also recommends that this group should work in parallel with the negotiations and therefore start its work during the first half of 2009; in addition, welcomes the Commission's intention to present a communication in the course of 2009 detailing the financial impact of the accession of Croatia to the EU;
