Due to scientific and technical progress in the field of advanced therapies, as reflected in Regulation (EC) No 1394/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 November 2007 on advanced therapy medicinal products and amending Directive 2001/83/EC and Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 , it is appropriate to adapt Annex I. The definitions and detailed scientific and technical requirements for gene therapy medicinal products and somatic cell therapy medicinal products should be updated.
Compte tenu des progrès scientifiques et techniques réalisés dans le domaine des thérapies innovantes, telles qu’elles sont visées dans le règlement (CE) no 1394/2007 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 13 novembre 2007 concernant les médicaments de thérapie innovante et modifiant la directive 2001/83/CE ainsi que le règlement (CE) no 726/2004 , il y a lieu d’adapter l’annexe I. Il convient de mettre à jour les définitions et les exigences scientifiques et techniques détaillées relatives aux médicaments de thérapie génique et aux médicaments de thérapie cellulaire somatique.
