Setting up this institute will (1) bring together on a single site, together with hospital biology, all the nationally and globally recognised research teams and (2) incorporate a molecular biotechnology platform capable of training in modern biology technologies, technology transfer and providing training and advice/assistance for small businesses and major industries in the Pays de la Loire region (agricultural producers, agri-food business, human and animal health, etc.). The total cost of the project is €20.2 million, of which €6.06 million will come from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
