E. considérant que la conférence internationale sur la population et le développement qui s'est tenue au Caire en 1994 a appelé de ses vœux l'accès à des services de santé sexuelle et reproductive, y compris à la planification familiale; rappelle à cet égard qu'en 2013, selon les estimations, 289 000 femmes sont mortes en cours de grossesse ou pendant l'accouchement; rappelle l'OMD n° 5 et la nécessité, pour réduire d'un tiers environ la mortalité maternelle, que les femmes aient accès à une méthode efficace de contraception et de planification familiale;

Strongly emphasises that, according to the International Conference on Population and Development Plan of Action, the aim of family planning programmes must be to enable couples and individuals to make free, responsible and informed decisions about childbearing and to make available a full range of safe, effective and acceptable methods of family planning of their choice, and any form of coercion has no part to play;

With the minister now acknowledging the Liberals' child care plan is restrictive and will not address the needs of Canadian families, particularly those living in rural areas of the country, like many families in my riding of Selkirk—Interlake, I call on the government to support the Conservative Party's plan for a truly universal program, a plan that puts money directly into the hands of parents so all Canadian families can make their own child care choices.

The organisation of a seminar on themes like recruitment, the terrorist threat, awareness among youth with the participation of counter-terrorism specialists, researchers, politicians; and the organisation of a competition among schools in Paris on a terrorism-related theme (Institut de relations internationales et stratégiques – IRIS) The elaboration of a questionnaire to develop a diagnostic (psychology) tool as a basis for more targeted help for the victims of terrorism; also, a scientific project with a university to adapt the concept of targeted intervention to the victims of terrorism (City of Koln – PLOT which stands for the prevention of long-lasting psychological consequences for victims of terrorist acts ) In the context of a plan of a municipality (San Sebastian, Spain), that offers support and solidarity to victims, COM is supporting the organisation of a film cycle on the theme of fighting for peace (Ayuntamiento de Donastia) A European project to promote the resources and help available for the victims of terrorism and their families (Croix Rouge de Belgique) The organisation of conferences by a Dutch foundation on preparedness and resilience; and elaboration of course modules for teachers to help children be resilient after terrorist attacks (Fondation Impact)
