At the height of the crisis, about 800 fires were burning in the Province of British Columbia, and eventually more than 2,200 Canadian Forces personnel were involved in fighting fire of the worst kind at Barriere-McLure, Okanagan Mountain Park, Vaseaux Lake, McGillivray Lake and Kuskanook Creek.
