The Agreement between the European Community and the Government of Canada on the conclusion of GATT Article XXIV:6 negotiations, approved by Council Decision 2007/444/EC (3), provides for the incorporation of a specific import tariff quota of 4 624 tonnes of pigmeat allocated to Canada.

Pursuant to the Agreement for the conclusion of negotiations between the European Community and Canada under Article XXIV:6 referred to in Annex IV to Council Decision 95/591/EC of 22 December 1995 concerning the conclusion of the results of negotiations with certain third countries under GATT Article XXIV:6 and other related matters (4) (United States and Canada), export subsidies on fresh, chilled or frozen beef and veal destined for Canada are limited to 5 000 tonnes annually.
Conformément à l’accord concernant la conclusion des négociations entre la Communauté européenne et le Canada dans le cadre de l’article XXIV:6 du GATT visé à l’annexe IV de la décision 95/591/CE du Conseil du 22 décembre 1995 concernant la conclusion des résultats des négociations avec certains pays tiers dans le cadre de l’article XXIV:6 du GATT et d’autres questions connexes (États-Unis d’Amérique et Canada) (4), les subventions à l’exportation de viande bovine fraîche, réfrigérée ou congelée à destination du Canada sont limitées à 5 000 tonnes par an.

In the wake of the accession of Austria, Finland and Sweden and then of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia and then of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union, and in the context of the conclusion of the negotiations under Article XXIV of the GATT, the Community further undertook to import from third countries a quantity of raw cane sugar for refining at a rate of duty of EUR 98 per tonne.

Pursuant to Article 1 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1095/96 of 18 June 1996 on the implementation of the concessions set out in Schedule CXL drawn up in the wake of the conclusion of the GATT XXIV. 6 negotiations , the Commission is to adopt the measures for the implementation in agriculture of the concessions set out in schedule CXL (European Communities) forwarded to the World Trade Organisation.

In order to respect traditional patterns of imports of quantities of the tariff quota covered by the concessions set out in Schedule CXL (European Communities) referred to in Article 1 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1095/96 of 18 June 1996, on the implementation of the concessions set out in Schedule CXL drawn up in the wake of the conclusion of the GATT XXIV. 6 negotiations , steps should be taken to allocate the quota of 96 801 tonnes among countries of origin from 1 July 2006 using the same distribution key as before.
Afin de respecter les courants traditionnels d'importation des quantités du contingent tarifaire faisant partie des concessions figurant sur la liste «CXL-Communautés européennes» visée à l'article 1er du règlement (CE) no 1095/96 du Conseil du 18 juin 1996 concernant la mise en œuvre des concessions figurant sur la liste CXL établie a la suite de la conclusion des négociations au titre de l'article XXIV:6, du GATT , il convient de procéder à la répartition du contingent de 96 801 tonnes entre pays d'origine à partir du 1er juillet 2006 en utilisant la même clé de répartition que précédemment.
