When I talked about developing systems for energy storage, I think the federal government's role is valuable in terms of research and development, and working with society and industry to develop standards so that the systems work better.

If farmers are recognized as being compensated for the cost of this research and for this project, they will work and cooperate with scientists to find the answers to these questions that work for their farms and work for society.

In order for the researchers to work efficiently and effectively in the modern knowledge society, it is necessary to enhance their training and skills from the traditional academic training to a more interdisciplinary and business-oriented one.
Pour que les chercheurs travaillent rationnellement et efficacement dans la société moderne de la connaissance, il faut que leur formation et leur capacité résultent moins d'une formation universitaire traditionnelle que d'une formation interdisciplinaire et soucieuse des besoins des entreprises.

REAFFIRM their commitment to ensuring effective follow-up of all commitments on PCD, in particular as regards the 12 areas identified in the aforementioned Conclusions of 24 May 2005 (Trade, Environment, Climate Change, Security, Agriculture, Fisheries, Social Dimension of Globalisation, Employment and Decent Work, Migration, Research and Innovation, Information Society, Transport and Energy).

The EU is committed to the implementation of the objectives contained in the Commission's communication on policy coherence for development dealing with the areas of trade, environment, security, agriculture, fisheries, social dimension of globalisation, employment and decent work, migration, research and innovation, information society, transport and energy, as well as climate change as listed in the Annex to these Council conclusions.

L'UE est résolue à mettre en œuvre les objectifs qui figurent dans la communication de la Commission sur la cohérence des politiques en faveur du développement dans les domaines du commerce, de l'environnement, de la sécurité, de l'agriculture, de la pêche, de la dimension sociale de la mondialisation, de la promotion de l'emploi et de conditions d'emploi correctes, des migrations, de la recherche et de l'innovation, de la société de l'information, du transport et de l'énergie, ainsi que des changements climatiques, objectifs qui sont énoncés dans l'annexe des présentes conclusions du Conseil.
