These include the use by SFMI-Chronopost of the Post Office's trade image, and in particular its vehicles as an advertising medium, its privileged access to Radio France's broadcasting programmes, some customs and tax privileges conceded both to SFMI-Chronopost and to the Post Office, and the Post Office's investment in dispatching platforms.

The European Commission decided today to close the procedure under Article 93(2) regarding the relationship between the French Post Office and its express courier subsidiary Chronopost, together with other measures which might involve State aid to Chronopost.
La Commission européenne a décidé aujourd'hui de clore la procédure qu'elle avait ouverte à l'égard des relations existant entre La Poste et Chronopost, sa filiale spécialisée dans le courrier exprès, ainsi qu'envers d'autres mesures susceptibles de comporter des éléments d'aide d'État en faveur de Chronopost.

As it does not have sufficient information to rule out the inclusion of state aid in the measures taken in the express delivery sector in France since 1986 with regard to SFMI and Chronopost, both controlled by the French Post Office, the Commission has decided to resume examination of the case.
