I know that, on this subject, there are differences, including in my own group, where my Swedish fellow MEPs do not share this position of mine. In this case, I agreed with an amendment by Mr Davies – defeated in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy – that proposed authorising and evaluating the professional prescription of heroin to addicts so that they might escape the clutches of dealers.
