A. whereas Rafah Nashed, Syria's first practising psychoanalyst and the founder of the Damascus School of Psychoanalysis, was arbitrarily arrested and detained on 10 September 2011 at Damascus airport by officers of the General Intelligence Services; whereas she is known for treating victims of psychological trauma as well as for her active engagement in favour of dialogue between all Syrians;
A. considérant que Rafah Nashid, première femme psychanalyste à exercer en Syrie et fondatrice de l'École de psychanalyse de Damas, a été arrêtée et emprisonnée arbitrairement le 10 septembre 2011 à l'aéroport de Damas par des agents des services de renseignement; qu'elle est connue pour traiter les victimes de traumatismes psychologiques, ainsi que pour son engagement en faveur du dialogue entre tous les Syriens;

call on the Syrian Government to reconsider the cases of political prisoners and release all prisoners of conscience and peace activists, and to allow the existence of groups such as the signatories of the Damascus Declaration, signed on 16 October 2005 by five proscribed parties and by independent personalities, and the signatories of the Beirut-Damascus/Damascus-Beirut Declaration of 12 May 2006; call on Syria to ensure that detained or imprisoned persons are well treated, not subjected to torture and given prompt, regular and unrestricted access to their lawyers, doctors and families; encourage the Syrian Government to cooperate fully with the Lebanese Government, in accordance with the agreement of 5 May 2005 between the Prime Ministers of Syria and Lebanon, to obtain concrete results in the cases of disappearances of Syrian and Lebanese nationals, within the purview of the joint investigative commission created to that end;
réclamer du gouvernement syrien qu'il réexamine le cas des prisonniers politiques et qu'il libère tous les prisonniers de conscience et activistes pacifiques, qu'il permette l'existence de groupements comme par exemple les signataires de la "Déclaration de Damas", signée le 16 octobre 2005 par cinq partis interdits ainsi que des personnalités indépendantes, ainsi que les signataires de la déclaration "Beyrouth-Damas, Damas-Beyrouth" du 12 mai 2006; inviter la Syrie à garantir que les personnes détenues ou emprisonnées soient bien traitées, ne soient pas soumises à la torture et bénéficient d'un accès rapide, régulier et illimité à leurs avocats, médecins et familles; encourager le gouvernement syrien à coopérer pleinement avec le gouvernement libanais, conformément à l'accord entre Premiers ministres syrien et libanais du 5 mai 2005, pour obtenir des résultats concrets sur les cas de disparitions de ressortissants syriens et libanais, dans le cadre de la commission d'enquête commune créée à cet effet;
