The migration dialogue between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean region (EU-LAC dialogue) is a more recent process that needs to continue in order to cater for an increasingly important region.
Le dialogue sur les migrations entre l'UE et les pays d'Amérique latine et des Caraïbes (dialogue UE-ALC) est un processus plus récent qui doit être poursuivi afin de répondre aux besoins d'une région dont l'importance ne cesse de croître.

- Develop and strengthen the EU-LAC Co-ordination and Co-operation Mechanism on Drugs and pursue the ongoing Structured and Comprehensive Dialogue on Migration in an open and constructive way, in line with the EU Global Approach to Migration.
- Développer et consolider le mécanisme de coordination et de coopération UE-ALC en matière de drogue et poursuivre le dialogue structuré et global permanent sur les migrations d'une manière ouverte et constructive, conformément à l'approche globale de l'UE sur la question des migrations.

As regards Latin America and the Caribbean, it is important to follow up the Lima Declaration from the EU-LAC Summit in May 2008 by developing a structured and comprehensive dialogue on migration, identifying common challenges and areas for mutual cooperation and benefiting from the activities of EU-LAC experts.
En ce qui concerne l’Amérique latine et les Caraïbes, il importe de donner suite à la déclaration de Lima, faite au sommet UE-ALC de mai 2008, en développant un dialogue structuré et global sur les migrations, en recensant les défis communs et les domaines de coopération mutuelle, et en tirant parti des travaux des experts UE-ALC.
