Honourable senators, I believe we Canadians are the most privileged people on earth to live in a country that shares a long and wondrous North America frontier separated only by an undefended and often invisible geographic borderline with the peaceful, God-fearing, freedom-loving, enterprising, compassionate and patriotic people of the United States of America.
Honorables sénateurs, je crois que nous, Canadiens, sommes les gens les plus privilégiés du monde, parce que nous vivons dans un pays qui partage une longue et merveilleuse frontière nord- américaine non défendue et souvent invisible, avec le peuple des États-Unis d'Amérique, un peuple craignant Dieu, épris de liberté et plein d'initiative, de compassion et de patriotisme.
