A. whereas, on the occasion of World Translation Day (30 September), the CEATL (European Council of Literary Translators' Associations) publishes an e-card, available in 28 languages, to remind everyone of the importance of the work of literary translators;

The support for literary translation has helped the translation of over 1,600 books during the 3 year period, giving some 1.4 million readers access to (new) European literature.
Le soutien en faveur de la traduction littéraire a contribué à la traduction de plus de 1 600 livres au cours des trois ans concernés, permettant à environ 1,4 million de lecteurs d’accéder à la (nouvelle) littérature européenne.

Strand 1 includes cultural cooperation actions, grants for literary translation, special actions comprising support for cooperation with third countries, the European Capitals of Culture, as well as four European prizes in the field of culture.
Le premier volet englobe des actions de coopération culturelle, des subventions pour la réalisation de traductions littéraires, des actions spéciales visant notamment à favoriser la coopération avec les pays tiers, les capitales européennes de la culture ainsi que quatre prix européens dans le domaine de la culture.

- Tunisia has expressed its interest to be associated to the European commission programme "Creative Europe" (signing of the agreement foreseen during the Association Council on 11 May 2017). The programme supports initiatives to strengthen the culture and media sectors, promoting cross-border cooperation, platforms, networking, literary translation and the distribution of audio-visual works.
- La Tunisie a décidé d'adhérer au programme 'Europe créative', le programme de la Commission européenne visant à soutenir les secteurs de la culture et de l'audiovisuel. Cette adhésion (signature de l'accord prévue à l'occasion du Conseil d'Association du 11 mai 2017) permettra aux acteurs tunisiens de la culture et de l'audiovisuel de bénéficier d'initiatives qui encouragent la coopération, les plateformes et les réseaux transfrontaliers, ainsi que la traduction littéraire et la conception et distribution d'œuvre audiovisuelles.

For the purposes of point b), the participating Member States shall ensure that the unitary effect is indicated in the Register for unitary patent protection, where a request for unitary effect has been filed and, during the transitional period provided for in Article 6 of Council Regulation ./. Secondly, in the area of migration the European Council successfully translated common concerns into common action.

Just a few days ago, the Commission adopted a social policy agenda outlining what needs to be done over the next two or three years to ensure that the conclusions of the Lisbon and Feira European Councils are translated into practical actions.

It replaces the previous cooperation agreement signed in Rabat on 25 April 1976. Following as it does the signing of agreements with Tunisia and Israel, the Agreement in question is the third Euro-Mediterranean association agreement concluded with a Mediterranean third country as part of the 'new Mediterranean policy' (NMP) established at the Essen European Council held on 9 and 10 December 1994 and the Cannes European Council held on 26 and 27 June 1995 which granted financial assistance of ECU 4 685 million for the period 1995-1999. The aim was to support the economic reforms and the process of opening up and structural renewal under way in the Mediterranean countries in question, instituting a genuine partnership by means of regional cooperation.
Il se substitue au précédent accord de coopération, signé à Rabat le 25 avril 1976, et constitue le troisième accord de ce type (les deux autres concernant la Tunisie et Israël) conclu au titre de la nouvelle politique méditerranéenne (NPM) définie aux sommets d'Essen (9 et 10 décembre 1994) et de Cannes (26 et 27 juin 1995), s'agissant de l'octroi, entre 1995 et 1999, d'une aide financière de 4,685 milliards d'écus destinée à soutenir les réformes économiques et le processus d'ouverture et de rénovation structurelle des pays bénéficiaires, l'objectif ultime étant l'instauration d'un véritable partenariat par le truchement de la coopération régionale.
