Les projets d'aquaculture concernent la modernisation et l'extension d'unités d'élevage des espèces traditionnelles telles que moules, huîtres et poissons d'eau douce; la reconversion de salines et l'aménagement des "valle" pour la polyculture de bar, daurade, sole, mulet et anguille; le développement d'unités intensives utilisant une technologie très sophistiquée (p. ex., les systèmes fermés de recirculation d'eau chaude pour l'élevage d'anguilles); l'installation d'écloseries pour la reproduction artificielle et l'élevage d'espèces nouvelles afin de diversifier la production aquacole communautaire.
