In the Supplementary Estimates (A), 1997-98, as well as in the National Finance Committee, the government has informed us that additional moneys are required for the following activities: the Manitoba and Quebec flood relief measures; the extension of the Canada Infrastructure Works Program; the Federal Youth Employment Initiatives Program, which is a continuation of the strategy to create employment opportunity for Canada's youth; and the Transport Canada revenue adjustment as a result of amendments to the Greater Toronto Airport Authority lease, which relief will be afforded by reducing the rents receivable that the Greater Toronto Airport Authority should have paid the government.
