Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 34(1) I have the honour to present to the House, in both official languages, the report of the Canadian parliamentary delegation for the Canadian Section of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Americas respecting its participation in the mission to the 38th regular session of the general assembly of the Organization of American States held in Medellin, Colombia from June 1 to 3, 2008.
Monsieur le Président, conformément au paragraphe 34(1) du Règlement, j'ai l'honneur de présenter à la Chambre, dans les deux langues officielles, le rapport de la délégation interparlementaire canadienne pour la section canadienne du Forum interparlementaire des Amériques concernant sa participation à la mission de la 38 session régulière de l'assemblée générale de l'Organisation des États américains, qui s'est tenue à Medellin, en Colombie, du 1 au 3 juin 2008.

Moving down in that section, we touch on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and some of our involvement over the years with them, suggesting there that this kind of organization, or a representative from that kind of organization, may help also give a perspective in terms of the standards we're striving for and how other countries are trying to achieve those.
