In the current circumstances and, in line with the Council Conclusions of June 2015, travel restrictions and an asset freeze should be imposed against persons, entities or bodies undermining democracy or obstructing the search for a political solution in Burundi, including by acts of violence, repression or inciting violence, persons, entities or bodies involved in planning, directing, or committing acts that violate international human rights law or international humanitarian law, as applicable, or that constitute serious human rights abuses, in Burundi, as well as persons, entities or bodies associated with them.

5.5. Given that the ultimate objective of liberalising trade and opening up markets must be to promote economic and social development, the ESC recommends that the future association agreements with MERCOSUR and Chile make explicit reference to the fundamental labour standards set out in the ILO's 1998 declaration of principles which together with other fundamental human rights and commitment to the principles of democracy and the rule of law, will form the basis for the new agreements.
5.5. Le Comité estime que la libéralisation du commerce et l'ouverture des marchés doivent avoir pour objectif à long terme de stimuler le développement économique et social. Il recommande que les futurs accords d'association avec le Mercosur et le Chili contiennent une référence explicite aux normes fondamentales du travail contenues dans la Déclaration de principes de l'Organisation internationale du travail (OIT) de 1998 en tant que partie intégrante des principes sous-tendant les nouveaux accords, conjointement aux autres droits fondamentaux de l'homme et à l'adhésion aux principes de la démocratie et de l'État de droit.
