The current International Boundary Waters Treaty Act was amended in 20011 to prohibit the bulk removal of boundary waters (as defined in the Boundary Waters Treaty, which is included as a schedule to the Act) from the Canadian portion of the water basins that are described in the International Boundary Waters Regulations made pursuant to the Act.
