TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Mr. Speaker, I had the honour to attend the send-off in Victoria of 10 aboriginal youth from across B.C. on CIDA-funded aboriginal youth partnerships to Uganda and Zambia. After months of training with the Victoria International Development Education Association, these young people were inspiring as they spoke about what had already become a life-changing experience for them.
Monsieur le Président, j'ai eu l'honneur d'assister à Victoria à la cérémonie organisée pour le départ de dix jeunes Autochtones de la Colombie-Britannique vers l'Ouganda et la Zambie dans le cadre de partenariats subventionnés par l'ACDI. Après plusieurs mois de formation auprès de la Victoria International Development Education Association (VIDEA), ces jeunes ont tenu des propos inspirants lorsqu'ils ont parlé de ce qui était déjà pour eux une expérience qui avait changé leur vie.

One of the things that the International Credit Insurance Association has done in the past year is set up an international institute to try to promulgate education of underwriters around the world, which again is something that has never existed.

Recalls that the success of the future strategy requires long-term commitment and action, increased and effective monitoring of the implementation of children's rights through the development of indicators and the involvement of NGOs and parents' and educational associations and coordination with national and international children's rights initiatives and policies;

Recommends the Commission, the Council and the Member States to promote the introduction of education for peace, respect for the dignity of the individual and gender equality in all the educational and training programmes of the countries which are in conflict, so as to foment a spirit of peace and an awareness of women's rights within society there and among peace-keeping and peace-making troops, posted EU officials and other international aid organisations; suggests that local women's organisations, mothers' associations, youth camp educators and teachers be associated with this project;
37. recommande à la Commission, au Conseil et aux États membres de promouvoir l'introduction de l'éducation à la paix, au respect de la dignité de la personne humaine et de l'égalité des genres dans tous les programmes scolaires et de formation des pays en conflit, ceci afin de développer un esprit pacifique et soucieux des droits des femmes au sein de la société et au sein des forces de maintien de la paix et d'interposition, chez les fonctionnaires de l'Union et d'autres organisations d'aide internationales en mission; suggère d'associer à ce projet les organisations locales de femmes, les associations de mères, les éducateurs des camps de jeunesse et les professeurs;

This issue was also discussed at the structured dialogue between EU Sports Ministers from the extended Troika , the Commission and sports movement representatives from the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), the European Health and Fitness Association (EHFA), UEFA, the EU Sports Platform, the European Physical Education Association (EUPEA), the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and the Federation of the European Sporting goods Industry (FESI).

Furthermore, three events will take place after the Week but supporting its aims and promoting its results : - the Third International Conference on Information Technologies in Occupational Safety and Health, from 13 to 15 November 1996 in Brussels, - the third competition on health and safety education and training materials organized by the European Commission together with the International Social Security Association (ISSA), - the International Conference on the Integration of Health and Safety into the education system, from 28 to 29 November in Dublin.
En outre, trois manifestations auront lieu après la Semaine, en vue de soutenir ses objectifs et de promouvoir les résultats obtenus : - la troisième conférence internationale sur les technologies d'information en matière d'éducation et de formation à la santé et à la sécurité sur le lieu de travail, qui se tiendra du 13 au 15 novembre 1996 à Bruxelles; - le troisième concours "Produits d'éducation et de formation à la prévention des risques pour la santé et de sécurité", organisé par la Commission et l'Association internationale de Sécurité sociale (AISS); - la conférence internationale sur l'intégration de la santé et de la sécurité dans le système éducatif, qui se tiendra les 28 et 29 novembre 1996.
