I particularly agree with the content of paragraphs 4, 8 and 9, especially the parts stating that EU priority should be given to assisting with the reconstruction efforts and improving the humanitarian situation, focusing on vulnerable groups, such as women and children, and on providing shelter, medical fac
ilities, logistical assistance and food; we call on all Member States to be prepared to meet UN requests for further assistance; we welcome the Commission’s preliminary commitments to EUR 30 million in humanitarian assistance; we welcome the decision by the G7 countries to cancel thei
r claims on Haiti’s ...[+++]international debt, and we also call upon the International Monetary Fund to provide full relief of the country’s outstanding debt – and we stress that any emergency earthquake assistance must be provided in the form of grants, not debt-incurring loans.
Je suis particulièrement d’accord avec le contenu des paragraphes 4, 8 et 9, et surtout les passages affirmant que l’UE devrait accorder la priorité à l’aide aux actions de reconstruction et à l’amélioration de la situation humanitaire, en ciblant les groupes vulnérables tels que les femmes et les enfants, en leur fournissant abris, équipements médicaux, moyens logistiques et nourriture.
