On a motion by Pierre Paquette, seconded by Jean Augustine, it was agreed, That the Committee, with the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, meet with the Delegation for Relations with Canada of the European Parliament on Tuesday, 16 October, 9:00 a.m; That the Committee hold a joint meeting with the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food to mark World Food Day on Tuesday, 16 October at 3:30 p.m. That the Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment invite Mr. Juan Somavia, Director General of the International Labour Organization, to appear before it on Wednesday, 17 October at 3:30 p.m. That the Committee hold a Joint Meeting with the Political Affairs Committee of the Council of Europe on Tuesday, 23 October at 9:00 a.m. At 9:57 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
Sur motion de Pierre Paquette, appuyée par Jean Augustine, il est convenu, - Que le Comité, de concert avec le Comité sénatorial des affaires étrangères, rencontre la délégation du Parlement européen chargée des relations avec le Canada, le mardi 16 octobre, à 9 heures; - Que le Comité tienne une réunion conjointe avec le Comité permanent de l’agriculture et de l’agroalimentaire pour souligner la Journée mondiale de l’alimentation, le mardi 16 octobre à 15 h 30. - Que le Sous-comité du commerce, des différends commerciaux et des investissements internationaux, invite M. Juan Somavia, directeur général de l’Organisation internationale du Travail, à comparaître devant lui le mercredi 17 octobre à 15 h 30.

2. Supports the call for a UN international committee of inquiry to investigate responsibility for the Kisangani massacres, and calls on the governor of the city of Kisangani, Jean-Pierre Birusa, to lift the ban on all public gatherings;
