(2) When, for longer than a week, a ship has been out of the communication range of a ship station or a coast station that is capable of transmitting and receiving communications using DSC, a radio operator shall make the test call at the first opportunity after the ship is within the communication range of a coast station in order to assess the operating condition of the radio installation.

3 (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Order applies to every communication transmitted to a ship by means of a Coast Guard Radio Station or transmitted from a ship to a Coast Guard Radio Station.

Lawrence MacAulay: With regard to the Canadian Coast Guard: (a) what is the complete list of all Canadian Coast Guard ships in service each year since 2000, including (i) the name of each ship, (ii) the location of the home port for each ship, (iii) the number of months per year each ship is operational, (iv) the annual operating budget of each ship, (v) the number of full time and part time employees on each ship, (vi) a list of each operation undertaken by each ship, including a detailed summary of the operation, date, and location(s); (b) what are the ships that are currently slated to be taken out of service or have annual operational service times decreased; and (c) what are the ships that are currently in production and the proposed location for their home port?

Ships carrying dangerous or polluting goods in transit through the territorial waters or exclusive economic zone of a Member State or in the open sea off its coast and neither leaving nor bound for a Community port shall notify coastal stations operating a mandatory reporting system as referred to in Article 5(1) of the quantity and IMO class of dangerous goods they are carrying.
Les navires transportant des marchandises dangereuses ou polluantes en transit dans les eaux territoriales, la zone économique exclusive ou au large des côtes d'un État membre , qui ne sont ni à destination ni en provenance d'un port dans la Communauté notifient aux centres côtiers exploitant un système de compte rendu obligatoire visé à l'article 5, paragraphe 1, la quantité et la classe OMI des marchandises dangereuses transportées.
