With a global steel market totalling one billion tonnes, it follows that domestic production of 1.2 million tonnes amounts to rather more than one-thousandth of global steel production, along with the 70 000 tonnes of magnetic circuit band with which we are concerned, for it is here that there have been losses, the cause for which is to be found not only in Italy, but also in the laws enacted by the European Union, in the high cost of energy and in the legislation on the environment.
Avec un marché mondial de l’acier totalisant un milliard de tonnes, il s’ensuit que la production nationale de 1,2 million de tonnes représente un peu plus d’un millième de la production mondiale d’acier, à laquelle viennent s’ajouter les 70 000 tonnes de bandes pour circuit magnétique dont nous nous occupons, car c’est à ce niveau que des pertes sont apparues. Leur origine n’est pas purement italienne, elles proviennent aussi des dispositions promulguées par l’Union européenne, du coût élevé de l’énergie et de la législation environnementale.
