Since that time, the federal government has invested billions of dollars in various infrastructure programs, largely directed towards municipal governments. These include current programs which are now sunsetting, such as the Canada Strategic Infrastructure Fund, the Border Infrastructure Fund, and the Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund noted above.
