The WTO’s report for 2001, published in January, does not seem to reassure those in the profession; first of all it confirms that a change is under way in the tourism market, and not only in response to the events in New York: tourists are travelling differently (avoiding air travel if possible), changing their destinations (preferring in general to stay in Europe) and are showing a tendency to stay nearer home.
Le rapport de l'OMT pour 2001, publié au mois de janvier, semble ne pas rassurer les professionnels; il s'agit, tout d'abord, de la confirmation qu’un changement du marché du tourisme est en cours, non seulement en réponse aux événements de New York: les touristes se déplacent de façon différente (ils évitent l'avion si possible), changent leurs destinations (en général ils préfèrent rester en Europe) et montrent une tendance à rester plus près de chez eux.
