His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, pursuant to section 12 of the Dominion Water Power Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the extension for a further twenty year period of the final licence for the development of water power at a site on the Astoria River in Jasper National Park in the Province of Alberta.
Sur avis conforme du ministre des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien et en vertu de l’article 12 de la Loi sur les forces hydrauliques du Canada, il plaît à Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil d’établir le Règlement prolongeant de vingt ans la concession définitive accordée pour l’exploitation de l’énergie hydraulique en un endroit sis sur la rivière Astoria, parc national de Jasper (Alberta), ci-après.

11. Calls on the Commission to draw on the operational experience gained with the Baltic Sea Strategy; calls, accordingly, for an action plan to complement the document; is of the opinion that the Action Plan should include the following elements: environmentally friendly use of the Danube by inland navigation, intermodality with other transport modes along the Danube through the improvement of all infrastructures (with priority for the better use of existing infrastructure) and by creating a multi-modal transport system all along the river, environmentally-friendly use of water power along the Danube, preservation and improvement of Danube water quality in accordance with the Water Framework Directive, stringent vessel safety requirements, development of environmentally friendly tourism and improvements in the fields of education, research and social cohesion;
11. invite la Commission à mettre à profit les enseignements tirés de la stratégie pour la mer Baltique d'un point de vue opérationnel; demande par conséquent que le document qui sera élaboré soit assorti d'un plan d'action; est d'avis que le plan d'action devrait comporter notamment les aspects suivants: une utilisation du Danube par la navigation intérieure qui soit respectueuse de l'environnement, l'intermodalité avec d'autres modes de transport le long du Danube, grâce à l'amélioration de l'ensemble des infrastructures (la priorité étant accordée à une meilleure utilisation des infrastructures existantes) et à la création d'un système de transport multimodal tout au long du fleuve, l'utilisation, dans le respect de l'environnement, des installations hydroélectriques le long du Danube, la préservation et l'amélioration de la qualité des eaux du Danube, conformément à la directive-cadre sur l'eau, des normes strictes de sécurité pour les navires, le développement d'un tourisme qui préserve l'environnement et des améliorations en matière d'éducation, de recherche et de cohésion sociale;

We are very much looking forward to the Danube, as one of our natural bonds and the river of our eternal dependence on each other, helping us progress thanks to the strategy due to be adopted in June; helping us as a green corridor, as an economic potential, as the driving power of joint ventures, as a developing transportation route and, indeed, as a cultural connection. Hungary is acting as an initiator in devising the strategy and, as regards the practical tasks, is organising the work on common water management and environmental protection.
Nous attendons impatiemment que le Danube, l’un de nos liens naturels, le fleuve de notre interdépendance éternelle, devienne un facteur de progrès grâce à la stratégie qui sera adoptée en juin, et se pose en couloir vert, en vecteur économique, en moteur de projets communs, en futur axe de transport et, aussi, en lien culturel. And have we not only narrowly avoided further catastrophes, when you think of the water in our rivers that was no longer cooling nuclear power stations; the waters in those rivers into which the French Government, for example, authorised even warmer water to be discharged?
