(a) prescribing outer limits of the continental shelf or any portion thereof for the purpose of the definition “continental shelf” in subsection (1), or designating, for greater certainty, the seabed and subsoil of a particular submarine area as being part of the continental shelf;

(h) “continental shelf” means the seabed and subsoil of the submarine areas that extend beyond the territorial sea throughout the natural prolongation of the land territory to the outer edge of the continental margin, or to a distance of 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured where the outer edge of the continental margin does not extend up to that distance.
h) « plateau continental » désigne le sol marin et le sous-sol des régions sous-marines qui s’étendent au-delà de la mer territoriale et sur tout le prolongement naturel du territoire terrestre, soit jusqu’au rebord externe de la marge continentale, soit jusqu’à 200 milles marins des lignes de base à partir desquelles est mesurée la largeur de la mer territoriale là où le rebord de la marge continentale se trouve à une distance inférieure.

The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 30a, allowing such derogations on condition that they are justified by specific geographical features of the sea areas concerned, such as the limited size of continental shelf along the entire coastline of a Member State or the limited extent of trawlable fishing grounds, where the fisheries have no significant impact on the marine environment and affect a determined group of vessels of the Member State or, as the case may be, of other Member States, and provided that those fisheries cannot be undertaken with another gear and are subject to a management plan as referred to in Articles 18 or 19.
