Council Directive 89/107/EEC of 21 December 1988 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States concerning food additives authorised for use in foodstuffs intended for human consumption. The procedure laid down in the above Directive is close to the procedure established by this proposal in that it provides for the creation of a positive list of authorised additives at Community level. 1. After completion of the disciplinary procedure laid down in Chapter VI of this Title, the contract of a staff member may be terminated without notice on disciplinary grounds in serious cases of failure to comply with his obligations, whether intentionally or through negligence on his part.

Notwithstanding paragraph 3, if the Commission or any Member State considers that work done pursuant to the mandate given to the CEPT/ECTRA or CEPT/ERC is not progressing satisfactorily having regard to the timetable laid down, it may refer the matter to the Licensing Committee, which shall act in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 17 of Directive 97/13/EC.
