IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

The aim of the Safer Internet Action Plan (SIAP) (henceforth “the programme” ) , as specified in the European Parliament and Council Decision[4], was promoting safer use of the Internet and encouraging, at European level, an environment favourable to the development of the Internet industry.
L'objectif du Plan d’action pour un internet plus sûr (PAIS) (ci-après dénommé «le programme»), tel que précisé dans la décision du Parlement européen et du Conseil[4], était de promouvoir une utilisation plus sûre d'internet et d'encourager, au niveau européen, un environnement favorable au développement de l'industrie liée à internet.

The main mechanism for implementing SIAP was the co-financing of projects selected on the basis of public calls for proposals.
Le PAIS a principalement été mis en œuvre par le cofinancement de projets sélectionnés sur la base d'appels de propositions publics.

Aujourd’hui, le concept et le principe du PAIS sont repris dans de nombreux autres pays – tant dans la région Asie-Pacifique qu’en Amérique du Nord et latine – comme modèle pour relever le défi du contenu préjudiciable et illicite sur internet tout en respectant les droits de l’homme et la liberté d’expression.

Under the SIAP (2003-2004) the EU spent overall 13.7 Million €.
Au titre du PAIS (2003-2004), l’UE a dépensé globalement 13,7 millions d’euros.
