For that reason a compromise was reached which provides for two alternative test cycles to be introduced in tandem from 2006 onwards: alongside the test cycle originally planned, which, in fact, has been developed for motor cars and brought into line with the technical requirements for motorcycles, a second test cycle, tailored to motorcycles, should be introduced as soon as possible.
